Produce Buyer
Job Description:
Established Importer/Exporter based in Visalia, CA is in need of an experience produce buyer. The company offers career development and salary growth opportunities. The key job responsibilities for this position include:
Responsible for buying / selling fresh fruits and vegetables destined to export markets
Coordination of fruit shipments, documents, USDA and local requirements
Maintain a data base of producers and growers, generating long term business relationships
Qualifications:
Requirements include: 4 year college degree plus 2-5 years of experience as a produce buyer. Candidate must have solid grower/shipper relationships. The following skills/traits are desirable: good negotiation skills, computer literate, highly autonomous and proactive, good oral and written communication, analytical capacities, good work ethic, team player, self starter, highly motivated, fully oriented to results, willing to go the “extra mile”. Some domestic and international travel required. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
Compensation includes: Base salary at $50K to $100K DOE, 401k, health insurance, possible relocation assistance.
